Simple Instruction On Caring Your Leather Furniture
By Sam Cyrus

Leather furniture can be easily found because leather is the most durable fabric used for furniture today. You can invest high-quality and beatiful leather furniture but one thing you have to know is about cleaning and taking care the one. When you buy leather furniture for your home or office, you expect it to last a long time. You want to keep it always looking great and brand new. The proper care and handling of leather pieces is the best way to meet those expectations.

The common items to be removed on cleaning the leather furniture are stubborn grease stains, irreversible marks and becoming it to dry out and fade. Use a neutral soap if you need to clean a greasy surface. Some stains (caused by greasy substances) may require that the cloth be dampened in a dilute solution of a neutral soap. Don’t clean a grease stain with water! Also avoid oils, saddle soap, cleaning solvents, furniture polish, varnish, abrasive cleaners, detergent soaps, or ammonia water. Oil-based cleaners tend to stretch leather, diminish the color, and pull at the stitching.

If you want to remove or minimize a stain by blotting with water, blot at the spill until the towel or rag comes back dry. Then let the stain sit for 24 hours before re-evaluating it. Don’t soak your leather in water or cleaner because this could create a worse stain than the original. And don’t use a rubbing motion! Gently blot as much of the stain away as possible.

Place your leather furniture in where many people will not be constantly rubbing against it so not causing irreversible marks. Most marks can be removed with leather conditioners, but over time there will probably bewear and tear that you cannot fix. Each week you should dust it by rubbing it down with a cloth. This keeps the leathers pores free of any dust particles. If someone happens to spill food on your leather you should wipe it up immediately with a wet cloth and liquid hand soap. More serious spills such as blood, urine, grease, wax or ink should be removed using a leather cleaner immediately after the spill occurs. When you first buy your leather furniture, you should apply a protector to ensure years of beautiful furniture. After this you should be cleaning your leather furniture thoroughly four times a year. You should be using a professional leather cleaner and then seal it again with the protector.

Where you decide to place your furniture is very important if you want it to last a long time. Leather should not be placed within two feet of any direct heatsource, including fireplaces, radiators or heating vents. Direct sunlight should also be avoided, because over many years the leather furniture will begin to dry out and fade.

By following these simple instructions, you will be fully rewarded and satisfied on purchasing your leather furniture.
